Celebrate Armed Forces Day in Caldicot Town Centre – Saturday 28th June 2025
Caldicot Town Centre will come alive with colour, music, and community spirit on Saturday 28th June 2025 as we host our Armed Forces Street Party Celebrations. This special event complements the Welsh National Armed Forces Day, being held on the same day at Caldicot Castle and Country Park by Monmouthshire County Council with an expected attendance upwards of 5,000. With two fantastic events just a short walk apart, Caldicot is set to be the proud heart of Wales’ Armed Forces Day celebrations. Sponsored and supported by Caldicot Town Council, the town centre will be decorated to complement the event theme and will add to the atmosphere of the event.
This all-day community celebration promises something for everyone – and it’s completely free to attend. Everyone is warmly invited to join us in honouring the courage, dedication, and service of our Armed Forces.
From 9am to 7pm – Armed Forces Market
Kick off the celebrations by exploring a buzzing market in Caldicot Town Centre. The market will be packed with a wide variety of local traders and community stalls, offering everything from handcrafted goods, artisan foods, and local produce, to gifts, keepsakes, and charity displays. This is a fantastic chance to support local businesses and enjoy the community vibe as the town begins its day of festivities.
Whether you’re looking to pick up a unique item or just enjoy the atmosphere with a coffee and a browse, the morning market is the perfect start to the day.
9am – 7pm – Late: Live Music & Street Food Festival
As the sun shines into the evening, the party continues with a high-energy live music and street food festival as well as the bustling. From 4pm onwards, Caldicot Town Centre will be filled with the sounds of fantastic live performances from local bands, vocalists, and entertainers. Expect a lively mix of genres, with something for every taste — from toe-tapping classics to upbeat crowd-pleasers.
A wide range of street food vendors will be serving delicious eats to fuel your evening. From gourmet burgers and sizzling street-style dishes to sweet treats and refreshing drinks, there’ll be plenty to enjoy as you relax with family and friends. Seating areas will be available, and we encourage everyone to stay late and soak up the feel-good festival vibes.
Community Involvement & Competitions
Caldicot Town Team is proud to support and honour the Armed Forces through this vibrant community event. As part of the celebrations, the team will be decorating the entire town centre in Armed Forces-themed displays, with flags, bunting, and patriotic touches creating a festive and respectful tribute to those who serve.
We’re also inviting local businesses to take part in a window display competition, encouraging creative and eye-catching tributes to the Armed Forces. This is a great opportunity to show support, get involved in the community spirit, and brighten up the high street for residents and visitors alike.
In the run-up to the event, CORE Caldicot will be running a special art competition for local schools. Pupils will be invited to create artwork inspired by the Armed Forces, and the winning entries will be displayed proudly as part of the town centre decorations. This project gives young people a chance to reflect on the meaning of Armed Forces Day while expressing themselves creatively.
